I’ve been on the hunt for the most perfect kitchen rug. I’ve had one in mind and I was beginning to think I dreamt it up. You ever do that? Envision something the way you would “make” it or want it-then never find it😣? I do this all the time….Usually Target🎯 comes through😂 but last night at Wally World I found this kitchen rug. So colorful! Neon orange, pink and green. Navy and black. I love it! EXACTLY what I wanted and it was only $5! Would have gotten 2 but the other ones were too patriotic #sorryamerica It’s just a rug……..but it makes me so happy! Happy Friday everyone! Happy Good Friday😘 #justarug #hardtoplease #yeteasytoplease #LOL

Hello again -- as it turns out the shampoo/conditioning really screwed up my hair. I'm back to normal now, and daily wash with cold water ( as I have been). However in the morning I wake up with waxy roots and static ends and no volume and my hair looks really bad very fast. It is a nuisance. I cannot use oils and brushes on my fine hair. Is aloe vera still an option? How does that work?
A

Please, forgive me! I have so many emails/questions that go on I can’t keep up with everyone!

what are using for shampoo/conditioner?

I have fine hair and a boar bristle brush works for me, it really helps clean the dust and stuff out. It helps bring the oils from the root down the length of my hair. It makes it super shiny and soft. I also use the TINIEST amount of coconut oil and sometimes avocado oil. I am talking barely a drop or two and I ONLY apply it from the ears down. ALL of these really help with frizz. The boar bristle brush will help remove the waxy build up at your roots.

did you clarify your hair with a clarifying shampoo before going no poo? IF not you need to! If you have regular shampoo left…..use a squirt mixed with a table spoon of baking soda and lather up like usual. This will strip your hair of all build up….do not condition with regular conditioner….that will just coat your hair again. Use the vinegar……if the vinegar rinse is weighing your down you need to dilute it more. Try using less vinegar to rinse with. I use 2 capfuls (I use Braggs Apple cider with the mother..I fill two caps with apple cider vinegar and pour it into a 10 oz bottle of water) that is all I need to condition my hair.

If you are using water only for washing….I would wash with warmer water to break up the sebum and dirt. You may have weird roots bc you are not washing with warm water….so the oils aren’t washing away.

Yes! Aloe vera works great as a deep conditioner….or conditioner period. It isn’t oily so it washesout easily…..even with water. It is moisturizing so it will nourish your hair and make it soft/shiny.

Egg yolk works great too. It will clean your hair and condition it too!

good luck! please let me know how it all goes!!!!

xx,

Stephanie

I went and got 3+ inches trimmed off my length and my layers added back in. 🙌🙏👏💇💆 I love it! My hair needed a trim back in December! It was getting bad. I love my new do! I just dunno if I’m cool enough to pull off this headband…..#nopoo #nopoomethod #hairtrim

Could you do a review on either the egg beer and honey or any of the henna shampoo bars? Please and thank you ! We have the same hair!
A

I will do shampoo bar/no poo reviews soonish——only bc I have ones I’ve already reviewed I just haven’t used them all up yet! They last SO LONG for me! :)

Hello miss ECL! I am beginning month four of no-poo. I have thin 2b (waves/curl) hair. I am currently only using BS (I think I finally got the ratio right) so now I am no longer waxy, but my hair frizzes no matter what (sleeping on it's really bad too ... I wash every 3 days)! (Also, I just got my hair poo/'dition'd... how will that affect my next no-poo wash?) Thank you!

I think you’ll be ok with the one poo and conditioning—I’ve had it done before during a hair trim and didn’t even think about it til after. I just resumed my regular wash routine.

Do you use any type of oil? Very tiny bit will go a long long way! Try coconut or jojoba.

Do u use a boar bristle brush? This will pull the oils from the scalp through the length of your hair and smooth your hair out. Try rinsing with cool water too it will smooth your hair. Aloe Vera can work too!
Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

Worked today, worked out, annnnnd did yoga. It is so hard to want to do anything after work—-since I walk around ALL the time….but I worked out and did 40 min of yoga. I’m feeling awesome. Feeling strong and determined. This time is really really different, I can feel it. I’m tired of starting over. I’m tired of failing…..plus also I just really want a hot bod #dontweall #iwantahotbodandallthecupcakesever 😂😍😘

Q
In one of your post I seen you mentioned Dr bronners castile soap. How did you use it, and how well did it work for you. This well be first attempt at the no poo method, please help!
A

I love Dr bronners. It was tricky at first. It doesn’t suds up/foam like shampoo normally does. Your hair has to be super wet to get bubbles and you HAVE dilute the soap a bit in water. It is too drying otherwise.
I used a squirt bottle from the travel section at Target. I used a few capfuls in a bottle of water. And saturated my hair and then squirt some into my roots. And massage in in sections. Then rinse like crazy.
And rinse and rinse and rinse some more. Then use apple cider vinegar rinse and use that to condition your hair. You can squirt it into the roots and down the length. This might weight your hair down…..you can then just squirt it on your hairs length, from the ears down.
Rinse this with cooler water. It will seal your cuticle and make your hair less frizzy and shiny!
If you don’t thoroughly rinse the soap out it will leave a weird oily film in your hair. It’s very annoying and weird feeling. This may also happen if you have hard water. The mineral react to the soap and to the baking if you used that method. If your water is hard, you can boil the water for your soap dilution or baking soda solution (if you use that method) it will reduce the minerals and will help with the residue.

Good luck! If you have anymore question feel free to ask!!! ☺️

Hello!

How is everyone doing? Spring is here but it does not feel like spring where I am at! It is still freezing out!

We are all moved in, here at our new apartment. We have been here a little over a week and I am not all the way unpacked. Oh well. There are pathways to the important things (kitchen and bathroom) and that’s all that matters! We have been working a lot, so I have been unpacking a few  boxes at a time, here and there, so the task seems a little less daunting. I should be done soon…..should be…

We wanted to rent something smaller to save money and start saving it for a house or just start saving better in general. I love our little one bedroom but I sure do miss the room/space of the two. I love the light in our new apartment. The windows in front face east and the windows in the back take in all the light when the sun sets in the west. It is so pretty! Our old place faced differently with north/south windows and the light wasn’t as gorgeous. The lovely light helps with our indoor plants we got this weekend! Steve purchased some tulips and a hanging plant (don’t remember the name sorry) at Lowe’s. The tulips are going to be  sooo pretty! I won’t share their color until they bloom! They’re really neat!

I love the bathroom here. It has a “nook” , if you will, for the sink/vanity area and huge bulb lights above the mirror. It makes getting ready so fun and girly feeling. LOVE that part. I love the drawer space too. Way more storage areas here than our old space. I will share pics of how we decorated and how I organize my make up in other posts in the future, when I get this place more put together!

We don’t have cable just yet, we don’t really need it. We have internet and Netflix, so we are pretty much set. Speaking of Netflix, I am obsessed with House of Cards. We watched it last year and could not wait for the second season! Forever and 7 years late to the party, Mad Men is amazing! I just started watching it this week and I am obsessed. I am only in the second season but I am in love with everything. The plot, the costumes, the time period, Betty, and I love me some Peggy! I just couldn’t get into it before. It just seemed so boring to me, but this time, I fell in love! How sad that it is ending this year too!

Hope you all have a great week and that it is warmer where you are! Send me some sunshine vibes or something, please!

xoxo
