Hikes and iced lattes for the first day of fall. We also enjoyed a tall glass of Angry Orchid before the hike😁😁
My iced latte is the bessssst! It’s a PSL but it’s made with homemade pumpkin spice syrup from organic pumpkins and a mix of spices and brown sugar…….it’s amazing!!! I am addicted!
Happy hump day! I don’t have a wash day story this week! It’s the same as last week and didn’t want to bore y’all!
Xo-have a great day and thanks for sticking around! Thanks to my new followers too!😘
I love this! Such a cute look
Happy Hump day!!! Hope all is well! Thank you for following!!!! Love getting new followers!!!
Here we have another Wash Day Wednesday post! I don’t always use the same products or always have new products to review but I thought I would share my routine for today!
I usually wash my hair 2-3 times a week. On Wednesdays I usually deep condition my hair. I use a bunch of different ways….sometimes coconut oil, eggs, yogurt, raw honey, or whatever I am doing research on : ).
Today, I used my Dr. Bronner’s coconut oil and Shea Moisture Super Fruit Complex hair serum as my deep conditioning treatment. I wet my hair down and applied two droppers of the serum and 3 tablespoons of coconut oil to my hair and scalp, left it in for 3 hours, and then washed it out with the Shea Moisture Superfruit complex shampoo. My hair is super smooth and healthy looking. It also smells great!
I usually deep condition once a week. You should too when you go no poo, it keeps your hair healthy and strong. It helps your ends stay healthy and keeps split ends at bay. If your hair is dryer you can deep condition every time you wash or if it’s super fine and can’t handle weekly treatments, try every other week! It depends on you and your hair…not everyone is the same but everyone should be deep conditioning their hair from time to time!
What do you use to deep condition your hair? How is no poo going for you?
Happy Thursday! Thanks for all the new follows!
Yesterday I shared with you my first impression of the Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex Shampoo. Today I will share my first thoughts on the hair serum.
Packaging: LOVE! I’m scared I’ll break the glass bottle so I am super careful but I just love the packaging! Fun magenta label and cute little dropper lid….if it’s possible to be cute?! I just like how you can control how much you want to use.
Scent: Seriously.So.Good. My husband really loves the scent of this and the shampoo. He says it’s “very flowery mixed with some fruit”…I agree. It is very floral and it smells almost of raspberry/berries, whatever it is I am hooked.
Performance: I rubbed one dropper full onto my length and ends, and two dropper-fulls to my scalp before washing. I used this has my deep conditioning treatment. I let it set for 30 minutes. It is not as oily as I thought it would be but I like that. My hair is fine and can’t handle too much oil, this stuff is perfect! It washed out great and I applied more after my shower. My ends are super hydrated and feel healthy…even though I really really need a trim!
I also used some today for heat protection and I guess it worked….who can even tell with heat protectors?
I will continue to use this and keep you updated!
Hvae you tried this hair serum? What other hair serums should I try?
Here’s a pic of how shiny my new shampoo made my hair!
Hello, everyone! Thanks for all the new follows!!😘
I shared this picture on my Instagram (@east_central_love) the other day of my hair in what I call “double milkmaid braids.”
I love this hairstyle! I wear it quite often. It keeps my hair out of my face and keeps me feeling cool when it is hot! I also love it for next day hair.
Brush hair out.
Apply any dry shampoo or other products if you want. I use dry shampoo and either coconut oil or my nourish and shine through the length to tame any frizz.
Section hair in top and bottom sections.
Braid each section into pigtails and secure with an elastic.
You should have 4 pigtails. Two top and two bottom.
Pancake or pull on each braid, loosening it, to make it look thicker.
Bring the left top braid over and pin with a bobby pin to right side.
Do the same thing to the opposite top braid, making sure the elastics and end of braids are hidden.
You may have to pin down the base of the braid (by the ears) if they stick out too much.
Now repeat steps for the bottom pigtails. Pin any flyaways down. You can hairspray your hair in place or leave as is!
You can overlap the pigtails anyway you wish. I sometimes keep them simple and pin from side-to-side or I like to overlap them and weave them into a pretty mess. Sometimes I braid the pigtails differenty. The two top pigtails I’ll braid inside out and the two bottom I’ll do in fishtail braids. It makes it look like it took a lot of time but it only takes 10 minutes tops!
This is great for dirty hair! It hides the grease! You can do it with clean hair too and wear the waves on day two!
Do you like milkmaid braids? How do you style yours?
How was everyone’s day? I hope it went well! The week is almost over!
I am going to start posting about my wash days! I wash my hair 2-3 times a week but Wednesday is a usual wash day and it is when I deep condition my hair so I thought I would do weekly posts to keep you all updated and maybe give you some No Poo ideas!
I ordered some new products I have been wanting to try last week and I have been tracking my Ulta order ever since! I have been so excited to try the new Superfruit Comlex 10-in-1 Line after seeing posts about it and Youtube video reviews about how awesome it smells and how well it works. I bought the shampoo and the hair serum from the line at BOGO 1/2 at Ulta last week and then on Labor day they were buy two get one free! I should have waited! Anyway, here is my first impression of the shampoo!
Packaging: Super cute! I love the magenta and yellow! Such a fun look!
Scent: Smells slightly floral with a hint of fruit. It lingers in your hair but it is nice! It is my favorite scent from Shea Moisture, so far!
Ingredients: Pretty clean. Contains NO sulfates, parabens, pthalates, synthetic coloring or fragrances, paraffin, mineral oil, or DEA. This brand does not test on animals! I say this is a very clean “no poo” shampoo alternative! I looked up all the ingredients on Skin Deep and they score 0 or a 1! So it is super clean!
Lather: This lathers so very rich and creamy! Rinses out well and you can feel how soft it makes your hair immediately! It washed out the hair treatment I put in really well too!
Leaves hair feeling: Super hydrated! Very clean! I haven’t washed my hair since Saturday morning. I wanted it nice and dirty for this post! It cleaned all the oil and dirt away with one dime size amount! It left my hair so soft and shiny! My dry ends feel really healthy!
I did not condition with my apple cider vinegar rinse because I wanted to see how these products worked on their own! The shampoo really made my hair so very soft and it had so much slip! My hair isn’t weighed down at all. It is really shiny and feels healthy.I will share my thoughts on the hair serum tomorrow!
I will continue to use this product and will share a more in depth review later, when I have used it several times. So far, so good!
Have you used any Shea Moisture products? What is your favorite? What should I try next?
I keep getting better and better at winged eyeliner…..any tips?!😥🙋🙎💄tap the picture for makeup info too😉☺️☺️☺️
Hello! How is everyone? I hope you are all doing great!
I shared these pictures on Instagram and I wanted to share with you all the green beauty items I used! It is a long list.sooo if you want to read about the million steps AND 1000 products I used….stay tuned…hehe.
First I prepped my skin by washing it with my Shea moisture African Black soap. This soap makes my skin super clean and doesn’t dry me out. Then I used Glory Boon’s Neroli Floral Hydrosyl as a toner. I then pressed Seventh Generations Boosters into my skin. I let that sink in for 2-3 minutes.
Then I used OhSudz concealer under my eyes, the middle of my forehead, down the center of my nose and chin (highlighting areas) and blend it in with this brush from Real Techniques. I then use Linen concealer powder from Alima Pure to set my concealer.
On to my eyes, to prime I used this primer from The All Natural Face. I used Cache from Silk Naturals from their Naked 3 Pallet Dupe. I applied Cache all over my lid and under my eyebrow. I then applied Green Gold from TANF into the crease and by my lash line. I winged it out a little too. I also used a tiny pencil brush to use Green Gold to line my lower lash line. Then I used this Diva Stix to line my my upper lash line. It is a dark creamy brown, perfect for this olive-y gold look. I used Portal from the same Naked 3 Dupe Set to set the eyeliner. I then used Fawn, another Diva Stix, to line my waterline and look more awake. I curled my eye lashes and applied two coats of Physicians Formula Fake Out Mascara. I brushed my eyebrows with a spooly and filled them in with TANF brow powder and set them into place with the brow wax.
I then contoured and highlighted my face using Sombra in the hollows of my cheeks and temples. Then applied Lumina to the tops of my cheek bones, down my nose, and in the highlight of my eyelid. I used Peachy Rose Matte Cheek and Lip Cream as my cream blush and warmed the look up even more with some Trinidad Deep Matte Bronzer powder in the same spots I contoured and to the top of my forehead. I finished the look off with another Diva Stix in Vixen.
I really love this fall look! The greens and gold with the burnt red lip is perfect! I am ready for fall and everything pumpkin!
Hope you all enjoyed this post! I hope to share similar posts soon!
